The Assistant Manager of Brand and Communications is an integral part of the Ad Council's Brand, PR and Social, Marketing and Events teams responsible for helping to develop and drive communications strategies for the Ad Council brand and its national social good campaigns.


In this role, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for helping to tell the Ad Council story and highlighting its legacy of impact through media stories, speeches and op-eds, panels and conference submissions, board communications, external events and the brand social media channels. The Assistant Manager will stay abreast of industry trends, innovations and events, helping to brief Ad Council senior executives on thought leadership opportunities. He/she will take a leadership role managing the Ad Council's blog ((...)) and monitoring best practices and editorial calendars for the Ad Council social channels.


The Assistant Manager of Brand and Communications will also work closely with the PR and Social Media team, supporting 1-3 Ad Council campaigns throughout the year. In this capacity, the Assistant Manager will write press releases, PR and social media plans, talking points and more. For these campaigns, the Assistant Manager will help manage outside PR and social agencies and freelancers and work closely with the teams to manage influencer engagement, media relations and content development.


This fast-paced position is perfect for someone who has strong written and oral communication skills, is a great project manager, has an appetite for learning and is passionate about social change.



  • 2 – 4 years of experience in journalism, publishing or the communications industry
  • Excellent written communication skills
