University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont's academic medical center and founding member of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks a Vice President of Communications and Engagement Strategies.

Position Summary: The Vice President of Communications and Engagement Strategies, under the direction of the Senior Vice President for External Relations, leads the University of Vermont Health Network's communications and customer engagement functions by planning and directing a comprehensive program to promote the brand of our two-state, multi-hospital system and affiliated providers, articulate the value proposition of our services, and support the move to value-based care and population health management. The incumbent collaborates with UVM Health Network (UVMHN) senior leadership, Network partner organization senior leadership teams, and other affiliated organizations. This position directs the development and implementation of communications and engagement strategies, resulting in a high level of employee, physician and patient and family loyalty to all components of the Network across the region. Those strategies include timely, transparent internal and external communications programs, consumer-centric traditional and non-traditional marketing modalities, digital/web/social media engagement platforms, media planning, and human-centered design carried out with a client-oriented, data-driven approach. The incumbent aligns efforts with the Government and Community Relations function to bolster reputation and relationship management and broaden awareness of programs and priorities and coordinates with Human Resources to support Network cultural integration.

 

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Care Management, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.

 

Experience: Requires a minimum of ten years of progressive, executive leadership experience in the academic medical and/or multi hospital system environment or related industry demonstrating a combination of vision and energy with a solid track record of achievement. Comfort with ambiguity and working in a large, diffuse, highly matrixed environment. Experience building a network function is extremely desirable.  A performance history of expanding the reach and value of an institutions' brand in local, regional, and national, levels, as well as demonstrated experience with modern, progressive and proactive communications and marketing program development.
